Metzkers to Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage on June 21



Jay and Debbie Metzker, of rural Martinsburg, will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Friday, June 21, 2019.

Jay, a retired dairy farmer, retired from his second career as a quality control inspector for Dairylea, now DFA milk cooperative. Jay currently works part-time with his son and grandson's at Second Chance Cattle Company of rural Williamsburg. Debbie retired from HealthSouth, where she was an occupational therapy assistant. Debbie works part-time at John's Way, a medical equipment outreach project of the Clover Creek Church of the Brethren.


They are the parents of two children; Kristin (Rusty) Russell, a missionary in the Philippines, and Wesley Metzker, a herd manager at Clover Ridge Farm in rural Williamsburg. They have 12 grandchildren ages 25 to 8 years of age.

Jay and Debbie are active members of Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, where they serve as deacons. Jay has also served as a trustee and church board member, while Debbie is active in women's ministry, Sisters of Faith widow's ministry and the Outreach commission. Together they are active in their SonSeekers Sunday class and small groups.

An open house to celebrate the couple's anniversary will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, 300 S. Mulberry St, Martinsburg. Friends are welcome to attend and share in their joy.
