Martinsburg Girl Graduates From Charter School of PA

Alana Nicole Norris of Martinsburg graduated from Reach Cyber Charter School of PA Connections Academy, Harrisburg, on Friday, June 7, in Mechanicsburg.

The daughter of Melissa and Wayne Norris of Martinsburg, Alana was in the first graduating class of Reach Cyber Charter School with 233 other seniors. She was also one of the first ones to be inducted into her school's National Honor Society. She was inducted on May 25.

Alana was one of three daughters in the household who graduated this year. She had twin sisters Daisy and Danielle Norris graduate on May 30th from Northern Bedford County High School.

An accelerated student, Alana skipped her junior year. She was a member of the National Honor Society and earned honor roll during each of her high school years. She was vice president of her senior class.

Alana was named the Bedford County Fair's second alternate queen in 2018. She was selected for Senior Cadet at Bedford County Camp Cadet for this summer. She was a Junior Camp Cadet graduate in 2016.

Her activities include Art Club, Music Club, STEM Club, Pen-Pal Club, photography, criminal investigation, forensic science, sign language, singing and bowling.

Alana is a volunteer for Homewood at Martinsburg's Bingo Thursdays. She also volunteers at the Woodbury Community Center Food and Clothing Bank on the third Thursday and Friday of every month.

Alana plans to go into criminal justice/law enforcement.
