Work Begins on Replogle School Road Near NE

 


The Board of Supervisors of South Woodbury Township met on Tuesday, June 4.

Work has begun on the bridge on Replogle School Road. A detour is in place for motorists.

Jeff R. Wos, CBSI Transportation from Keller Engineers, was present to discuss replacing the bridge on Golden Rule Road. The decision will need to be made to replace the structure with concrete box or a steel box. Also, discussion took place on funding and ways to get funding for this project. This will be a discussion that will be ongoing at this time.

Supervisors approved the naming of the bridge on Golden Rule Road. The bridge will be named for a Vietnam veteran Jack Walter Rice.

During the third week of June, New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. will begin to finish last years’ work. This includes work on North Road, Middle Ridge Road and one half of Cave Road. Also, paving on Mountain Drive will take place this year.

Roadmaster Rick Musselman reported that a PennDOT Traffic Study will be done along State Route 1015 in Loysburg. This is in front of the Cove Lions Building. A discussion on a cul-de-sac on Oakhill Road is ongoing.

There were eight inspections done with the Sewage Management Program.

The Farm Preservation Board Meeting took place on May 28. Officers were chosen and Bob Detwiler is in charge of this.

Bill Bratton and Ryan Carbaugh will remain in office of the Planning Commission.

Supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 11.
