JAMES C. BEACH

James C. Beach, 92, of Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg.

At request of the deceased, a memorial service will be held at a later date and at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.

James was born on April 6, 1927, in Henrietta, son of the late Harry B. and Clara A. (Haffley) Beach.

He was united in marriage with Evelyn (Kensinger) Beach on May 8, 1948, in York. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2012.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra; a brother, Robert Beach; and sisters Phyllis Roberts and V. Madge Over.

James was a graduate of Woodbury High School and served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy from May 17, 1945, to Aug. 2, 1946.

He was employed by New Enterprise Stone & Lime for many years.

James was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling.
