Ross D. Claycomb

Ross D. Claycomb, 66, of New Enterprise, died on Monday, June 17, 2019, at home.

A funeral was held on Monday, June 24, at the Smithfield Church, Martinsburg RR. Pastor Jim Snyder officiated.

Interment was made in Diehl's Crossroads Cemetery, Martinsburg RR.

Ross was born on April 5, 1953, in Roaring Spring, the son of the late Harrison E. and Elda J. (Swartz) Claycomb.

He married Linda A. Settle on June 7, 1980, in Bedford.

Ross is survived by his wife; a daughter, Brenda S. Humphries (Mike) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a son, Brian D. Claycomb of Woodbridge, Virginia; a stepson, Garrett M. Stock of Martinsburg; six grandchildren: Michael and Charles McCartney, Kenneth and Skylar Claycomb and Corey and Caden Stock; and three siblings: David E. Claycomb (Karen) of Bakers Summit, Regina Czerwinski (Kevin) of Pacifica, California, and Mary Ann Lebron (Rodney) of Mount Jackson, Virginia.

Ross was a 1971 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School, Loysburg.

He was employed at New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co./PennStress for the past 48 years.

Ross was a member and past shop steward for the United Steelworkers International Union.

He enjoyed drag racing and Pittsburgh Steeler football.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ross's memory may be given to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
