Shooting Range Permits at Issuing Agents

Pennsylvania Game Commission shooting range permits now can be purchased at any license issuing agent, as well as online.

Previously, the permits were available online, with those buying permits printing them at home. Permits were only available for physical purchase at the Game Commission’s Harrisburg headquarters and the agency’s six region offices.

While range permits now are available anywhere hunting licenses are sold, those buying them online can continue to print them at home.

To buy your 2019-20 shooting range permit online, visit The Outdoor Shop through the Game Commission’s website.

Range permits are not needed when using archery ranges on state game lands.

Range permits, like hunting licenses, are valid from July 1 to June 30 of the next year. The 2019-20 hunting license year begins July 1, and at that time all users of Game Commission firearms shooting ranges will require 2019-20 licenses or permits.

Shooting range permit holders must be at least 16 years old.

Shooters using ranges must be in possession of their valid licenses or permits, and must follow all other range rules.
