Altoona Man Arrested for Theft Of $400 in Separate Incidents At Freedom Township Walmart

An Altoona man is in jail on charges he stole more than $400 from the East Freedom Walmart.

According to charges filed by Freedom Township police, John P. Sollenberger, 43, entered Walmart on four separate occasions between May 26 and June 14 carrying a Walmart shopping bag.

Police allege that Sollenberger would then remove items from the store's shelves and place them in the bag within a shopping cart. He would then take the items to the courtesy desk and exchange them for a refund.
