Herald of August 1, 1919

The home of Mrs. Lewis Davis was the scene of a happy gathering on Sunday, the occasion being in honor of her daughter Miss Mary Davis, a Red Cross nurse who arrived at her home here from oversea service, Thursday of last week. Miss Mary set sail for foreign duty in September 1917, since which time she was engaged in active service. Her brother, John R. Davis, who was with the engineers, arrived home on Sunday, July 13. Besides the brother and sister, Herbert Bolger and Albert Tipton, two of our boys who fought the Hun, were also guests at the Davis home.
