The Spring Cove School Board approved housing another Head Start program in the school district. Child Advocates of Blair County will host the Head Start preschool program at the Spring Cove Middle School. Superintendent Rodney L. Green said Head Start believes the location is a “good fit.” The class of up to 17 preschool children will be located in the former family consumer science room in the lower level of the school. There is an entrance in that area of the building. The middle school no longer offers a separate family consumer class in its curriculum but has incorporated it into the other classes.

Soft southern accents mixed with the thud of hammers this week at Bill Bush Park on Cherry Street, Roaring Spring. Twenty-five members of the Waco (Ga.) Baptist Church arrived at the site Monday morning to make repairs to the craft-picnic shelter that has fallen into disrepair. The group of upbeat, mannerly teens and adults planned to remove weeds from around the playground equipment. They also planned a barbecue.
