Fred E. S. Kagarise, principal of the Martinsburg High School, for the past twenty-five years, has severed his relations with the school board at this place.
Rumor was currant for some time that Professor expected to leave and on Monday evening of last week, at a meeting of the school board, his resignation was formally accepted. He goes from this place to Cambria county, having accepted the position of supervising principal of the Salix schools in Adams township.
Prof. Kagarise came to this place and took charge of the borough schools in September 1893, at a time when they were in a rather chaotic state.
From the start his work here was a success. The following year, 1894, he organized the Martinsburg High school, which he has since conducted with credit to the town.
He was again elected to conduct the school for the coming term. During the years Prof. Kagarise has been at Martinsburg, he was conceded to be one of the best educators of the county.
