Martinsburg Borough Council welcomed aboard a new member Monday evening, Aug. 5.
Council voted in the only applicant for the open board position, Charles "Chuck" Kensinger. Mayor Richard A. Brantner Sr. administered the oath of office to Kensinger.
Kensinger joins the council following the resignation of Douglas D. Smith in July. The council appointed Kensinger until Dec. 31 of this year.
Smith filed a withdrawal affidavit through Blair County to get his name off the ballot this fall, as he filled out petition paperwork in the spring to be on the November ballot. Kensinger has the option to...
