Local Toll Calls To End

Toll charges on telephone calls between Martinsburg–Williamsburg; Roaring Spring–Claysburg; and Roaring Spring–Loysburg will be discontinued Sunday, Aug. 17. G. A. Grimes, Martinsburg District Manager for United Telephone announced that the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission had accepted United’s petition to eliminate charges on the four routes. Mr. Grimes pointed out that subscribers stand to save $19,000 yearly in tolls that have been charged for this service.
