About the year of 1865, Christian Allen, of Woodbury, became the Sunday School teacher in the M. E. church of a class of eight boys, namely: Clarence Reed, Watson Allen, Harry Oellig, S. E. Fluke, C. W. Fox, H. G. Hair, W. S. Lee and John Bulger. The class remained together under the same teacher until they all grew to manhood, then scattered to different parts of the country, most all becoming professional or business men.
