Author Randy K. Stoltz of Martinsburg wrote a book, "Civil War and the Hearts of Morrisons Cove," which focuses on veterans from the Cove and their involvement in the war. The book will be made available to the public during three book signings with the author at Morrisons Cove libraries in September.
Martinsburg resident Randy K. Stoltz has been compiling a list of Civil War veterans from Morrisons Cove for many years covering the area from Williamsburg to Loysburg.
The modest list has grown from additional sources of information such as newspaper articles, church records, books, memorial services and cemetery lists to include more than 1,000 names. The names were many times accompanied by other information concerning the life of the veteran before, during and after the war.
