Tussey Mountain exploded for 301 yards rushing and seven touchdowns during its 48-14 victory a Williamsburg’s Veterans Memorial Field Sept. 20.
The victory moved the Titans to a 5-0 start, while the Blue Pirates slipped to 0-5.
Tussey Mountain turned a 14-0 lead after the first quarter into a 41-0 advantage at halftime. The Titans led, 48-0, before Williamsburg scored its 14 points in the final 12 minutes.
Leading Tussey Mountain’s ground attack was Kaden Lucko, who carried tha ball 13 times for 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jared Sipes added 88 yards rushing and two touchdowns on five carries. Tyler Rhodes added three rushing touchdowns on the night that saw the Titans throw the ball only once.
Williamsburg managed 91 total yards in the loss. Tyler Clark carried the ball 17 times for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Williamsburg’s other touchdown in the fourth quarter came on an Ian Crouch 67-yard punt return. Crouch also had one catch for 12 receiving yards.
On Friday, Sept. 27, Tussey Mountain will host Juniata Valley (4-1), while Williamsburg will journey to Moshannon Valley (1-4). Each game will kick off at 7 p.m.
