Ex-Gov. A.G. Curtin Dies

Andrew Gregg Curtin, Pennsylvania’s famous Civil War governor, died at his home in Bellefonte at the age of 79.

Vergie Brumbaugh, 15-year-old daughter of J.S. and Delilah Brumbaugh, New Enterprise, died of typhold fever and pneumonia after lying very low for three weeks.

John Edwards, a brakeman on the Huntingdon & Broad Top Railroad, was killed in a train accident near Mount Dallas.

Joseph Feather of Roaring Spring was run over by a handcar while working on the railroad near Curryville. He was bruised and badly hurt, but nothing serious.
