Big First Half Propels W. Branch

West Branch scored 30 first-half points against visiting Williamsburg Oct. 11 and cruised to a 37-8 victory.

The win was just the second in eight games for the Warriors. The Blue Pirates dipped to 0-8.

West Branch racked up 489 totals yards in the win – 295 passing and 194 rushing.

Warrior quarterback Ayden Gutierrez completed 11 of his 21 pass attempts and tossed two touchdowns. Noah Hoffner caught five passes for 131 receiving yards and one touchdown. Eddie Dale had 92 receiving yards and one touchdown on three receptions.

WHS gained 346 total yards, with 225 of them on the ground. Tyler Clark carried the ball 11 times for 121 rushing yards.

Lambert Palmer threw for 111 yards, three interceptions and one touchdown. He threw a 20-yard scoring pass to Adam Uplinger in the second quarter. Uplinger finished with two catches for 34 yards. Wes McCall had four catches for 65 receiving yards.
