U.S. Rep. Joyce Appointed to Cybersecurity Panel

Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) has been appointed to the House Committee on Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Innovation.

“In the 21st century, cybersecurity is a critical component of our national security strategy,” Rep. Joyce said in a prepared statement. “As our nation is increasingly targeted by bad actors, it is an honor to join this group of members who are committed to identifying, preventing, and combating threats to our nation’s cyber infrastructure. As a physician, I am particularly excited to work on protecting American patients and the health care community from cybersecurity threats.”

Rep. Mike Rogers (AL-3), who serves as the top Republican on the House Committee on Homeland Security Committee, recently selected Congressman Joyce to serve on the subcommittee.

Congressman Joyce practiced medicine in central Pennsylvania for more than 25 years before taking office in January. In addition to serving on the House Committee on Homeland Security, Congressman Joyce is a member of the House Small Business Committee and is the top Republican of its Subcommittee on Rural Development, Agriculture, Trade, and Entrepreneurship.
