Wages Hiked 10% at Quarry

Wages were increased 10 percent at the Smucker Stone quarry near Williamsburg. About 150 men were employed there.

The election cost the county of Blair upwards of $3,000.

J.E. Corboy of Woodbury advertised a public sale of household goods, two horses and other items.

Maj. Jesse B. Crawford died at his home in Gaysport at the age of 84. He was at various times register and recorder of Mifflin County, a senior partner in the iron manufacturing company of Crawford, Johnson & Co. and superintendent of the old Portage Railroad.

The Juniata car shops went to a six-day work...
