Jodie Dellinger, owner of Country Corner Crafts, stands in her shop with a few of her Christmas creations. Dellinger and other local crafters are holding a first-of-its-kind craft show at the McKee Playground on Nov. 21, 22 and 23. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the playground.
Tucked away on Back Street in the quiet village of McKee is a small playground that has played a big part in the lives of generations of children.
Tracing its roots back to the 1950s, the playground and adjoining community center building has survived throughout the years through the efforts of people who are dedicated to keeping it a hub of children's activity.
As with anything, it takes money to keep the grounds and equipment safe and up to date, and the latest fundraiser to benefit the playground is about to get "creative."
