Suspect Package Found at Airport Contained No Explosives

Suspicious packages left on the second floor of the Blair County Airport prompted an evacuation. The state police bomb squad unit was called in. It was determined the packages contained no explosives. Police continue to investigate.

A suspicious package discovered at the Blair County Airport Friday contained no explosives, according to State Police.

Emergency personnel were called to the airport at around 7 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, after the packages were discovered on airport's second floor.

After a TSA scan showed possible explosive material, airport officials called 9-1-1. Local law enforcement and state police arrived on the scene and evacuated the immediate area. A perimeter was set up to keep people a safe distance from the airport.
