WinterFest Parade Kicks Off Holiday Season in Hollidaysburg

Hollidaysburg held its annual WinterFest Parade on Sunday, Nov. 24. Enjoying the parade while trying to keep warm are (from left): mom Ashli Hatch of Altoona, grandmother Robin Sanchez of Duncansville, Madalynn Hatch, age 8, granddad Joe Sanchez and dad Brooks Hatch holding Harper Hatch, age 4.

The holidays center around traditions. In Hollidaysburg. the traditional start of holiday celebrations is the annual WinterFest parade the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Katrina Pope, director of Community Relations and Events for the Borough of Hollidaysburg, announced preparations for the annual WinterFest celebration with the placement of the "Diamond tree," from Canal Basin Park, on the Diamond.
