Damage at RS Sub-Station

Lightning striking the Pennsylvania Electric Company’s Roaring Spring Sub-Station left nearly 900 customers in the Roaring Spring area without power for more than six hours on Monday.

At a meeting of the Williamsburg Community School Board Nov. 15, the directors voted unanimously to renew Lee Swinsburg’s contract as superintendent for another five years, beginning June 30, 1995, and ending on June 30, 2000.

Williamsburg High School senior basketball standouts Jill Tate and Abby Hoy signed letters of intent after accepting full athletic scholarships at Division I universities. Tate signed with Duquesne University and Hoy with the University of Akron, Ohio.

Roaring Spring blood day exceeded expectations Thursday, Nov. 10, at the First Church of the Brethren, when 103 units of blood were donated, surpassing the usual goal of 100 units. Mary Logue of Martinsburg RD 1 was recognized for achieving the 11-gallon donor mark, having donated blood 88 times.
