North Woodbury Accepts New HALAS Contract

At the North Woodbury Township meeting on Nov. 14, Jessica Sorge, the new executive director of the Hollidaysburg Area Legion Ambulance Service, and boardmember Jerry Stern presented the supervisors with an updated 10-year contract replacing the contract dated Jan. 5, 2014. The supervisors voted to accept the new contract.

Ordinance 11-14-19 (A), which limits burning within the township, was passed. Also passed was Ordinance 11-14-19 (B), which limits fireworks within the township.

A cleaning contract for the Pennsylvania Game Commission was approved.

The township vision policy was changed from Blue Cross to UPMC.

Per capita exonerations for the 2019-20 fiscal year were approved.

Roadmaster Bryan Roush presented an estimate for $2,925 from Lofty Heights Tree Care to have certain trees within the township trimmed. The estimate was accepted.

The tentative township budget for 2020, $746,325, was passed. The budget is available for public inspection during the office’s normal business hours.

An ad will be placed in the Morrisons Cove Herald announcing the reorganizational meeting at 10 a.m.Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. At that meeting an accounting firm for the township will be considered and the township’s books and finances for the year 2019 will be reviewed.

Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.
