St. Matthew to Host Guest Musicians

November 27, 2019

Hannah and Matthew Knauss will provide the music for the 10:30 a.m. worship service at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg, on Sunday, Dec. 1.

They are the daughter and son of the former pastor at St. Matthew, the Rev. Timothy Knauss and his wife, Monica.

Hannah currently teaches high school choir, music theory and piano classes at Interboro High School, located near the Philadelphia Airport. In addition to teaching, she also directs the theater program at the school, which includes a fall play and a spring musical. In the summer, Hannah enjoys traveling the country and the world and coming back for visits to Martinsburg.

Matthew is a senior at Duquesne University, majoring in physics and math. He plans to go into a graduate program next year in pursuit of a Ph.D in physics. For the past three summers he has been on the staff at Camp Sequanoto, a Lutheran Camp near Jennerstown.

For the worship service on Dec. 1, Matthew will play the piano and Hannah will play organ and serve as the cantor for the service.

Pastor Traci Marriot Bowman will lead the worship, preach and preside at Holy Communion.
