Trolley Kills Loop Farmer

Michael H. Shultz, about 50, was instantly killed when he was run down by a car on the Cogan Valley electric railway about a half mile north of the Ant Hill turnout. He was a farmer from the Loop area of Frankstown Township.

The Herald published as usual on Thursday, even though it was Thanksgiving and a legal holiday. Services were held in the morning at the Lutheran and Reformed churches and a union service of prayer and praise was scheduled for the evening at Zion Church.

Forest fires were raging in the mountains north and west of Martinsburg.
