December 12, 2019

Herald of Dec.12, 1919

The annual meeting of the Blair County Farm Bureau in connection with a local farmers’ institute will be held in the court house at Hollidaysburg, sessions to be conducted both morning and afternoon. Officers will be elected by the bureau for the coming year and R. Bruce Dunlap, farm agent, will present his annual report covering the activities of the organization during 1919.

Mrs. Mary Stoner, widow of Daniel S. Stoner, a veteran of the Civil War, died at 2:45 o’clock Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George C. Gates, of Juniata. She has been confined to her bed for the past three weeks, suffering from the valvular lesion of the heart. Deceased was born at Martinsburg March 31, 1840, the daughter of Daniel M. and Mary Holsinger who at that time resided on North Market street where Mr. Holsinger conducted a copper shop

Vacation is over, teachers and pupils are again at work on College Heights. The Institute was the best yet held, and why should it not have been so since the past guides the present.
