Williamsburg Area Ambulance Announces Closure Dec. 31

Williamsburg Area Ambulance has announced it will be shutting its doors and ceasing service effective Dec. 31.

In a letter posted to the ambulance service’s Facebook page, Williamsburg Ambulance Chairman Robert S. Craig cited declining reimbursement from insurance companies as well as a lack of up and coming personnel to keep the ambulance running.

Craig’s letter said the Williamsburg area will be getting primary coverage from Hollidaysburg American Legion EMS (HALAS) and secondary emergency medical coverage from AMED....
