The Northern Bedford boys’ basketball team started strong but couldn't finish in a season-opening 83-51 loss at Bedford on Dec. 6.
The Panthers led, 15-13, at the end of the first quarter.
“We came out with a lot of energy and surprised them a little bit early on,” NB coach Randy Meck said.
The Bisons took the lead early in the second although NB had tied it back up at 33-33 with a minute left in the half. A five-point Bison run set the halftime score at 38-33.
The Bisons turned up the pressure and pulled away with a huge 31-point third quarter en route to the win.
