The first woman elected to public office in Blair County will “go out singing” from her position after 32 years.

Jeanne Bolger of Martinsburg is retiring as Blair County jury commissioner. Her last official day is Jan.4. At ceremonies at the Blair County Courthouse, Mrs. Bolger, also a local entertainer, will sing two selections.

Mrs. Bolger, 81, who is among the longest-serving elected officials in Blair County, also is the first person from the Cove to be elected to county public office.
