Farm Business Course Offered by Extension in Somerset

Is your New Year’s Resolution to dive deeper into the business side of your ag business?

Penn State Extension is offering the farm business course “Farm$en$e,” a four-session financial management professional development business course for agricultural producers, business owners, and farm managers interested in gaining a better understanding how financial statements drive business decisions to build knowledge.

The classes will run 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Penn State Somerset Extension Office. There is a per-farm charge.

The Farm$en$e course will give business owners and farm managers confidence in knowing numbers. It also serves as an opportunity to study the business and financial aspects of farming, including sources and uses of cash, ratio analysis and record keeping. Participants will create their own a custom set of business financials and more importantly they will learn how to use financial records to make informed decisions about operations. This course is interactive and hands on.
