Martinsburg Woman Dies in Trailer Fire

A Martinsburg woman died from injuries suffered in a trailer fire on Sunday evening, Dec. 29.

Fire crews were called to 214 N. 3rd Alley in Martinsburg after Blair County 9-1-1 received a call from a woman inside at around 9:45 p.m., who told the dispatcher that the trailer was filling up with smoke and that she couldn't get out.

Firefighters arrived on scene and pulled the woman, Jane E. Weaver, 75, and her dog from the structure.

Blair County Coroner Patricia Ross said Weaver died of smoke inhalation.
