One hundred quarts of a high explosives such as is used in shooting oil wells was put off in the Martinsburg borough well near the cannery Wednesday afternoon. Water, stone and debris were thrown into the air a distance of almost 200 feet following the explosion. The geyser continued for nearly a minute. The explosive was packed in long cylinder containers placed on top of each other in the well.
