JOHN DAVID SZYMCKEC SR.

John David Szymckec Sr., 81, of Martinsburg, died on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at UPMC Altoona, following a brief illness.

A funeral was held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., www.thompsonfh.com, Roaring Spring. Pastor Suzanne Morelli officiated.

Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

John was born on Aug. 31, 1938, in Roaring Spring the son of the late Walter "Skee" and Ruth (Hoover) Szymckec.

He married Carolyn Brown on June 27, 1959. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 1995.
