Big Second Half Lifts WHS Girls to Victory

The Williamsburg girls’ basketball team suffered a 45-40 setback at Forbes Road on Jan. 6.
Forbes Road held a 13-8 advantage after the first quarter, but the Lady Pirates used a 14-5 run to grab a 22-18 lead at the break. The host squad tied the game at 30-30 entering the final eight minutes.
Hannah Brenneman paced Williamsburg with 10 points. Kendel Norris added nine points.Marcella Lynn hit two 3-pointers and finished with six points.
At Mount Union on Jan. 10, the Lady Pirates outscored the hosts 29-17 in the second half en roue to a 47-34 victory. WHS had a slim 18-17 advantage at halftime.Jayla Woodruff paced Williamsburg with 17 points, while teammate Kendel Norris chipped in with 14 points.
