NB Girls Fall to MU, Everett

Northern Bedford traveled to Mount Union for an Inter-County Conference Inter-divisional game on Jan. 6 and found themselves in quite a tussle with the host Lady Trojans.

The Lady Panthers found themselves down 24-16 at the half before clawing their way back.

An Allie Snider trey early in the final stanza put the Lady Panthers within a bucket and NB then tied it up at 36-36 with two minutes remaining in the game.

NB was outscored 6-3 from that point forward as the Lady Trojans thwarted the comeback.

"We started slow and really struggled in the first half," NB coach Jon Ewart said. "We really picked it up in the second half and had the momentum but just couldn't seal the deal."

Allie Snider's 11 points paced the Lady Panthers.

Everett got off to a fast start and ran to a 57-24 victory over visiting Northern Bedford on Jan. 9.

The Lady Warriors, behind all-stater Kaitlynn Maxwell's 27-point effort, built a 38-12 halftime lead.

"Everett got a strong start and built a nice lead early. We took to long to get untracked," NB coach Jon Ewart said. "Maxwell is a really great player."

Makayla Kochara had six points to pace Northern. The Lady Panthers are 3-9 overall.
