Byron G. Guyer, 80, of Hollidaysburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at his residence.

A funeral was held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at Grace Family Bible Church, Duncansville. Pastor James Zaebst officiated.

Committal was held at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.

Byron was born on May 24, 1939, in Roaring Spring, son of the late George and Minnie (Amick) Guyer.

He married Ruth E. Parsons on Feb. 16, 1963.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Lori Ann Guyer who resides at home; two sisters: Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Cramer and Ardith (Allen) Wiedemann, all of Duncansville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Guyer.

Byron was a 1957 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard veteran. He retired as a salesman from Valley Tire and had previously worked at Automotive Supply Co.

He had attended Grace Family Bible Church. He was a member of various antique tractor clubs and had previously been a member of the Paso Fino Horse Association.

Byron enjoyed collecting and restoring tractors and especially enjoyed the family farm.
