The new governor appointed A.S. Landis of Hollidaysburg as one of the directors of the State Industrial Reformatory at Huntingdon.

Six two-horse sleds loaded with pupils of the schools of Roaring Spring passed through Martinsburg on Saturday.

What was to be a catamount carried a pig from the pen of the Beck property at Mount Etna.

D.M. Butts & Co. was expected to start a saw mill at Cove Forge.

The Rev. Ephram Dutt preached a fitting and feeling farewell sermon at the church where Martinsburg Lutherans had worshiped for 43 years. The original church was built in 1843. Owing to defective timbers in that building, it was torn down and re-erected in 1852.
