Third-Grader at Williamsburg Schools Advances in Hoop Shoot Contest

Elizabella Royer, 9, of Williamsburg, won the North Central District Elks Hoop Shoot contest on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Huntingdon High School. She will advance to the state Elks Hoop Shoot contest on March 7 at Bellefonte Area High School.

Elizabella Royer, a 9-year-old third-grader at Williamsburg Elementary School, won the North Central District Elks Hoop Shoot contest on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The contest was held at Huntingdon High School. Every year, the Elks Organization holds the Elks National Hoop Shoot Free-Throw Program.

The program is a free-throw contest for youth ages 8 to 13. The program begins at the local Elks Lodge. Winning contestants advance through district, state, regional and national competitions.
