NB Wrestlers Fall in Semi's

The Northern Bedford High School wrestling team was handed just its fourth defeat of the season on Jan. 28, as the Black Panthers were defeated 51-24 by visiting North Star.

The Black Panthers earned two decisions, one fall and won two by forfeit.

Colby Imler and Dakota Korzec won by decision at 170 and 182 pounds, respectively. Derek Beach pinned his opponent at 285 pounds, while Ian Sherlock (138) and Kolin McNamara (220) each won by fall.

North Star had five pins on the night in addition to one technical fall, one major decision and two forfeits.

NB 47, Tussey Mt. 30

In a District 5 Class 2A Team Duals meet with visiting Tussey Mountain on Jan. 30, the third-seeded Black Panthers earned a 47-30 first-round victory over the sixth-seeded Titans.

Five wins by forfeit aided the Panthers in the victory.

NB’s Brady Clark and Kyler States earned back-to-back pins at 152 and 160 pounds, respectively. Ian Sherlock won by technical fall at 138 pounds.

Winners by forfeit for the Panthers were Lucas Heck (132 pounds), Colby Imler (170), Dakota Korzec (182), Kolin McNamara (195) and Reyan Imler (113).

Tussey had two pins, two decisions and two forfeits on the night.

Berlin 52, NB 24

In the semifinals of the District 5 Class 2A Team Duals, second-seeded Berlin Brothersvalley earned six pins during its 52-24 victory over NB.

The Panthers scored all of their points via forfeits – Colby Imler at 170 pounds, Dakota Korzec at 182, Derek Beach at 285 and Reyan Imler at 106.

NB 45, West Branch 28

The Black Panthers earned five pins en route to a 45-28 victory at West Branch on Feb. 4.

Pinning their West Branch opponents were Tristin Pepple (126), Lucas Heck (132), Ian Sherlock (138), Brady Clark (152) and Colby Imler (170).

Reyan Imler earned a decision at 113 pounds, while Kainen Brown and Derek Beach were winners by forfeit at 220 and 285 pounds, respectively.

B-A 45, NB 23

Host Bellwood-Antis had four falls during its 45-23 win over Northern Bedford on Feb. 5.

The Blue Devils also earned three major decisions, one decision and had one victory by forfeit on the evening.

Tristin Pepple (126), Colby Imler (170) and Reyan Imler (106) each won by fall for NB. Teammate Ian Sherlock won by technical fall at 138.

There was no match at 113 pounds.

Bedford 52, NB 24

Host Bedford scored the dual meet’s first 34 points and cruised to a 52-24 victory over Northern Bedford on Feb. 7.

The Bison recorded six pins, won two bouts by technical fall and two by forfeit.

Kyler States (160), Colby Imler (170 and Reyan Imler (106) each won by major decision. Brady Clark (152) and Derek Beach (285) pinned their opponents.
