ARLENE O. MARLIN

Roaring Spring

Arlene O. Marlin, 70, of Roaring Spring, died on Friday morning, Feb. 14, 2020, at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care, following an extended illness.

Arlene was born on Dec. 17, 1949, in Riddlesburg, the daughter of the late Charles G. and Virginia O. M. (Sparks) Marlin.

Arlene is survived by two daughters: Lori A. Stewart and husband Jim of Roaring Spring and Becky Jo Smith of Hanover; five grandchildren: Jerremy M. Burket and wife Judy, Sara B. Burket, Nathan J. Burket and wife Whitney, Matthew R. Burket and Katherine Nellie Grace Stewart; five great-grandchildren; three brothers: Charles Marlin of Georgia, Jessie Marlin of Hustontown and Randy Marlin of Three Springs; and a sister, Louise Fisher and husband David of Newville.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Marlin.

Arlene was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and also graduated from the Chambersburg School of Nursing with an LPN degree.

She had previously been employed at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, for 21 years and retired in 2009 from the James E. Van Zandt Medical Center, Altoona, after 20 years of service.

She enjoyed reading books, puzzles and word puzzles and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Arlene’s memory may be given to the Roaring Spring Community Library, 320 E. Main St., Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
