Septic Issues Cause Concerns at Catharine Township

A septic problem in Catharine Township is flooding a pond and spreading on the ground.

The township supervisors during the regular meeting on Feb. 20 said that the owners of the property have been warned and a letter was sent to Sewage Enforcement Officer Luke Helsel. There was no further discussion on topic during the meeting.

Blair County Planning Commission representative David McFarland sent the township information about the supervisors putting in place a hazard mitigation plan that deals with flood, wildfire, oil spills and related matters. McFarland said the plan had been “pushed t...
