The smokestack at the Pennsylvania Electric Company’s generating station in Williamsburg, a landmark in the community for 20 years, was demolished on Friday, March 3.

The Central High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams each defeated Lewistown to win the District 6-AAA titles. The Dragons snuck by Lewistown 72-70, and the Lady Dragons edged Lewistown 47-44.

Lynn Baney, owner of the Brownstone Art Studio, Martinsburg, announced the publication and release of her new book, “The Love Concept Through Chiropractic.” “The Love Concept” is an intergenerational book about healing, acceptance and health through chiropractic. It is a true story based on Baney’s involvement with chiropractic and a Christmas tree tradition that was established in 1975 in her husband’s Dr. Gary Baney) chiropractic office.

The sanctuary of the Woodbury Church of God was extended and a baptistry was added as part of a $180,000 construction and renovation program. The Rev. William Brantner was pastor.
