M-burg Library's Pretzel, Candy Sales Raise $2,557

The Friends of the Martinsburg Community Library met on Jan. 21 at the library. The Friends have themed baskets each month to raffle. All proceeds benefit the library.

The pretzel and candy sales amounted to $2,557.

The book club continues to meet the first Tuesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the library. New members are always welcome. The library provides the books for loan.

The winter book sale was held in February. The next sale is tentatively planned for August 2020.

The quilt to be auctioned is almost finished for display.

The librarian, Danette Feathers, reported that Pokemon and LEGO clubs are popular. February and March programs at the library included a Stress Relief Program, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary read books about military families and donated 13 books to the library and on March 2 the library celebrated Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
