NOTICE: The Herald office is closed to walk-in business until further notice

Publisher Allan J. Bassler has announced that the Herald office is closed to walk-in business.

On orders from the governor, the Herald is closing its office at 113 N. Market St., Martinsburg, to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

While newspapers are considered to be an “essential

business” under state law, the Herald’s office is considered to be a retail establishment. To be safe, we have decided to close our office to the public.

The Herald office closed to walk-in traffic ONLY at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. All Herald services remain available, as our staff is still working.

You can still do business with the Herald, as our staff will be reporting to the office unless the commonwealth issues more stringent restrictions. We remain committed to keeping the community informed about the coronavirus.
