Police Plan St. Patrick's Day DUI Patrol

March 12, 2020

The D.U.I. Task Force of Blair County will make its presence known on area roadways using one or more enforcement and monitoring methods in the coming weeks.

Police-employed methods could include check points, roving patrols, the Cops in Shops program, or mobile awareness.

These events are intended to insure Blair County roadways are kept as safe as possible from hazards related to impaired drivers.

Police urge area residents to avoid driving while under the influence of alcohol or medications.

For those planning to consume alcohol for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday, police urge the following:

• Before drinking, designate a sober, non-drinking, driver.

• If you’re impaired, call a taxi, Uber, Lyft or call a sober friend or family member to get home safely.

• If you see an impaired driver on the road, don’t hesitate to call 9-1-1.

• If you know someone who is about to drive or ride while impaired, take their keys and help them make other arrangements to safely get to where they are going.
