Bithell Sets Scoring Mark

Central’s Ben Bithell set a new career Blair County scoring mark during the Dragons’ 58-55 PIAA inter-district loss to Seton LaSalle. Bithell’s 27 points gave him 2,106 for his career, edging him past long-time record holder Don Appleman of Williamsburg, who scored 2,100.

Williamsburg Borough Council at its March meeting voted to stop providing free water to 19 sites in and around Williamsburg, including the Ambulance Club and the Veterans Memorial Community Center. A motion to eliminate all free water by installing meters and charging for the amount used won the approval of council.

Sarah J. Kough, a resident of the Morrisons Cove Home, celebrated her 103rd birthday on Monday, March 13, 1995. She was the oldest resident of the home, where she had been living for 15 years. She was born in the Brush Mountain area of Frankstown Township.

Martinsburg and Roaring Spring borough councils adopted a seven-year franchise agreement with Time Warner Cable. The agreement would expire in December 2002.
