Donald R. Neely

Donald R. Neely, 68, of Hollidaysburg, Pa., died April 6, 2020, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born at home in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Harold M. and Dessa (Garman) Neely.

He married Kathy A. Berry in 1972. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, a daughter Dawn Hoover and husband Mike; five grandchildren: Kaley Angus, Rachel Hoover, Julia Neely, Garrett Neely and Grace Shelow; a daughter-in-law, Becky Neely; sisters Margaret Oakes, Carol Caldwell, Joann Hileman, Betty Butler and Patty Woomer; a brother, Robert, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wade Neely, a sister and four brothers.

Don graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1969. He retired from Conrail/Norfolk Southern. He was a member of the Loop Sportsman's Club and the Martinsburg Sportsman's Club.

Don enjoyed being with his family and friends as well as hunting and spending time outdoors, and was known by many in the Cove as the groundhog hunter.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be at Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
