Claysburg Woman Charged With Custody and Corruption of Minors After Incident April 11

Krystal C. Campbell, 40, of Claysburg, is awaiting a preliminary hearing on a third-degree felony charge of interference with custody of children and three misdemeanor charges of corruption of minors.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Bedford, at approximately 10:30 p.m., April 11, Campbell and her two juvenile children, ages 11 and 16, drove to pick up a friend of the 16-year-old. The friend, also 16 years old, left his residence without parental consent.

According to police, Campbell drove them all to the residence of her ex-husband in South Woodbury Township, with the intention of taking a dirt bike.

Campbell dropped off the two 16-year-olds who then walked up to the property only to find that the dirt bike was not there.

Campbell and her 11-year-old son drove around while the other two were still on the property.

According to PSP Bedford, Campbell wanted the two 16-year-olds to go inside the residence and a parked vehicle on the property to take pictures of any and all legal documentation.

The 16-year-old friend was under the impression that he was only supposed to be helping a friend pick up his dirt bike from his father’s house.

While the two 16-year-olds were walking back to Campbell’s vehicle, they were followed by a 1-year-old Golden Retriever. The dog, for some unknown reason, ended up in the vehicle and Campbell drove off with the dog.

Campbell was arraigned on April 15 by Magisterial District Judge Brian K. Baker.

Unable to post bail, Campbell was committed to the Bedford County Prison.

A preliminary hearing was to be held on April 22 at Bedford County Central Court.
