RALPH M. DEETERS

Rural Williamsburg

Ralph M. Deeters, 80, of rural Williamsburg, passed away Saturday morning, April 18, 2020, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1939, in Altoona, son of the late Edgar E. and Beatrice L. (Keith) Deeters.

On June 30, 1961, he married Sarah J. Dopp in Williamsburg. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2012.

Surviving are five children: Russell M. (Kandy), Carey E. and Suzanne J. (Jason) Sisson, all of Williamsburg, Kevin L. (Roxanne) of Altoona and Ryan T. (Renee) in Texas; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister Charlotte Deeters of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ellis Deeters.

Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1962 to 1964, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve, Altoona Base for 20 years.

He was employed as a machine operator for the Elco Corp., Huntingdon, with more than 20 years of service. Ralph loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading his bible and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Inurnment will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas.
